In January 2023, Dave and Sara, a couple with 23 years of marriage and two children, embarked on a sweet adventure. Married since they were 18, with Dave serving in the Army, they shared many life experiences together, but it was being in the right place at the right time that led them to the creation of Yum Yum Candy Shop.
During a routine shopping trip, while stocking up on a variety of gummy candies, a conversation with a random shopper sparked an idea. He was also buying candy but he was freeze drying it, and told them how amazing it was.
Intrigued, Dave and Sara visited their local farmers market where they experienced freeze-dried candy for the first time. The unique taste and texture immediately convinced them that a freeze-dried candy business would be an amazing idea.
After they purchased their first freeze dryer, Dave and Sara began experimenting with different candies at home, trying to find the perfect ones for their customers. Their love for diverse flavors led them to not only focus on freeze-dried candies but also expand their offerings to include the flavors they loved: Mexican candies for Dave and gummy candies for Sara.
They launched their website in January 2023 and started posting videos on TikTok and Facebook. Within no time they were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of orders. This rapid success required quick expansion. They invested in additional freeze dryers, built a dedicated team, and moved from their home into a 5000 sqft facility to meet the demand.
Today, Yum Yum Candy Shop, with over 20 employees, operates daily, continuously developing new sweet creations and experiencing rapid growth. Dave and Sara's journey from a simple idea to a thriving candy shop is a testament to their innovation, passion, and commitment to bringing joy and sweet innovations to candy lovers everywhere.
